Advertisement for a Deputy Chair

The National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH) was launched in March 2021. It was formed in response to Recommendation 1 in the Creative Health report, the result of a two year inquiry led by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Arts, Health and Wellbeing. The NCCH’s mission is to: advance good practice and research, inform policy and promote collaboration, helping foster the conditions for creative health to be integral to health and social care and wider systems.

The NCCH has eight trustees. The Chair of Trustees is Lord Howarth of Newport. We would like to appoint a Deputy Chair to support the work of the Chair. To be considered for this role, you will have a successful record of senior leadership in government, politics, business or other public service. We are looking for a highly experienced leader, preferably with a good understanding of relevant policy and systems issues, who believes that creativity is central to healthy lives and flourishing communities.

Being a Deputy Chair of NCCH will be an opportunity to help shape the future of Creative Health in the UK. This is a dynamic and expanding area of activity with a growing commitment from government and statutory bodies in health, social care and the arts and culture.

We encourage all trustees to offer support to NCCH in particular areas of expertise, but also welcome the other numerous ways in which people’s own individual skills and experiences can inform the work that we do.

PRACTICAL COMMITMENTS

Every trustee is appointed for a term of three years. Trustees meet 4 times a year, including one face-to-face ‘awayday’ in London.

1-2 weeks before each board meeting, the trustees receive the board papers, to prepare for the meeting.

Trustees will need to agree to being listed as a trustee on the Charity Commission website.
