Children and Young People's Mental Health (Select Committee Evidence Submission)

March 2026

This evidence submission explores how arts, culture and creativity can support the mental health of children and young people through prevention, early intervention and community-based support. Drawing on evidence, research and case studies from across the UK, it highlights the role of creative health in reducing demand on specialist services, addressing inequalities, strengthening mental health literacy and improving outcomes across education, health and community settings.

This submission was selected to be one of 33 pieces of written evidence that inform the outcomes of the enquiry, Children and Young People's Mental Health, ran jointly by the Education and Health and Social Care Committees.
