Creative Health Associates Programme Report: activities, outputs & outcomes

The NCCH Creative Health Associates Programme was delivered by seven Creative Health Associates hosted by Integrated Care Boards, one in each NHS region in England. They were supported by a Creative Health Programme Manager through peer support and leadership development. The programme was scheduled to run between July 2023 and the end of October 2024; the end date was subsequently extended to the end of March 2025.

This programme was designed to support the NCCH’s ambition to foster the conditions for creative health to be integral to health and care and demonstrate the power of culture and creativity to benefit the lives of individuals and communities.

The role of the Creative Health Associates was to work within Integrated Care Boards and across Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) to identify the opportunities to embed creative health in the wider health and care system.

The programme aimed to:

  • Improve cross-sector understanding of creative health
  • Integrate creative health into ICB and wider system priorities
  • Enhance the role of creative health in social prescribing
  • Increase creative health activities and approaches across ICBs and ICSs

A report on the activities, outputs and outcomes of the programme can be found here, together with the external evaluation report - the full version of which is here, together with a shorter summary here  and a summary of key findings here.
