What is creative health and how are nurses involved?

Hosted on 17th December 2025, this webinar introduced a newly formed  Nursing Special Interest Group (SIG) for Creative Health. 

SIG co-leads Dr Marion Lynch and Professor Vicky Ridgway were joined in conversation with nurses and organisations leading on creative health practice, education and research.

Speakers included:

  • Dr Marion Lynch - Introduction to SIG and next steps
  • Dr Vicky Ridgway - What is creative health and nursing education
  • Laura Atyeo - How creative health organisations and groups help design health care
  • Dr Nicola Fisher - Using creative methods to communicate nurses research and projects.
  • Dr Marie Clancy - Arts-based assessment in nursing education

The session also introduced what the Nursing Special Interest Group (SIG) is planning and how you can get involved. The National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH) provides the Secretariat for the SIG. 

The Nursing SIG is co-lead by Marion Lynch (Art of Nursing) and Vicky Ridgway, and the SIG works in partnership with the Foundation of Nursing Studies (FoNS). Find out more about the Nursing SIG here https://ncch.org.uk/nursing-sig-for-creative-health
