Andrea Sutcliffe CBE, Trustee
Andrea has held significant leadership roles in health and social care, most recently as Chief Executive and Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Previous roles include Chief Inspector, Adult Social Care at the Care Quality Commission, Chief Executive for the Social Care Institute for Excellence, and Deputy Chief Executive at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
In 2024, Andrea moved away from Executive roles due to ill-health. She is now a Trustee of Shared Lives Plus, a non-executive Group Director of Dimensions UK and a lay funeral celebrant.
Andrea actively promotes the importance of the creative arts in helping to ensure care is person-centred, effective and meaningful. This was especially so at the CQC, when she highlighted how the arts supported outstanding services and enthusiastically championed the Live Music in Care Challenge. She’s delighted to continue her passion for the arts in care as an NCCH Trustee.
